The spool of this reel is CNC machined from cold forged 6061 aluminium to extremely high tolerances. The spool is vented for weight relief and is fully anodized for salt water protection. The back is our traditional stainless steel back with rolled edges and 'fish tail' cross for added strength. This is combined with the proven meat side cast system and a stylish metal embossed badge. The fish alert switch can be engaged when leaving the rod and reel unattended to warn you of a fish taking line. A 55mm diameter single carbon drag washer gives an ultra smooth drag. The tri-star tensioning knob allows quick access to your drag settings and there is the drag on / off lever on the back of the reel to completely disengage the drag if required. The 6000C8 has also been fitted with the rapid retrieve handle plate assembly. This allows up to 30% faster recovery than the cranking 1:1 outer handle. The counter balance provides for smooth winding whilst retrieving line. Use the power handle for handling fish and the rapid retrieve handle for retrieving unbaited hooks or even spinning a lure.
